MUSCULAR ENDURANCE - at least three 30-minute sessions each week that include exercises such as calisthenics, pushups, situps, pullups, and weight training for all the major muscle groups.
CARDIORESPIRATORY ENDURANCE - at least three 20-minute bouts of continuous aerobic (activity requiring oxygen) rhythmic exercise each week. Popular aerobic conditioning activities include brisk walking, jogging, swimming, cycling, rope-jumping, rowing, cross-country skiing, and some continuous action games like racquetball and handball.
FLEXIBILITY - 10-12 minutes of daily stretching exercises performed slowly, without a bouncing motion. This can be included after a warmup or during a cooldown.
COOL DOWN - a minimum of 5-10 minutes of slow walking, low-level exercise, combined with stretching.
A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE

the keys to selecting the right kinds of exercises for developing and maintaining each of the basic components of fitness are found in these principles:
SPECIFICITY - pick the right kind of activities to affect each component. Strength training results in specific strength changes. Also, train for the specific activity you’re interested in. For example, optimal swimming performance is best achieved when the muscles involved in swimming are trained for the movements required. It does not necessarily follow that a good runner is a good swimmer.

No one would knowing eat foods full of pesticides or feed them to there family. There are certain foods the we should be careful of if we want to (Eat Healthy) and (Avoid Pesticides).

(Water).
The water source in America and even throughout the world is very contaminated with pesticides. Because we need to drink plenty of water as it is the most important thing to our health it is also important that we drink safe, pesticide free water. I drink distilled bottle water or filtered water myself. Even though many municipalities have water treatment and filtration plants the water is not the best quality. It has been reported that their are over 2,000 chemicals in our water yet most water testing facilities can only perform tests for 30 to 40 of them. Not only that but 80% of Americans drink chlorinated water which may not be best for us. Chlorine has been known to combine with organic material and become carcinogenic (cancer causing). Combine that fact with the fact that pesticides, industrial chemicals and radioactive materials are often present in our water supply it is important to filter the water further or drink distilled bottle water. Contrary to what many people say, tap water is not good for your health.

Fish.
It stands to reason that if our water supply is contaminated then the fish in the water is also contaminated. The fish to avoid completely are shark and swordfish because of their high mercury content and the fact that sharks eat any and everything including lots of pesticides. Next you want to avoid fish that come from highly polluted waters. That would typically be the major industrial areas like the northeast in America. on the other hand the purest water is in Australia, Argentina, Chili, New Zealand and Iceland. Fish from these areas are generally pesticide free. To (Eat Healthy) (Avoid Pesticides) in your fish choose Orange Roughy, Red Snapper, Sole, Pacific Salmon, Florida Mahi Mahi, Trout, Halibut and Grouper.

Meat.
The best meat to eat is lean meat. I avoid red meat and eat skinless turkey and chicken to avoid the fat. They are more expensive but the free range animals are nearly pesticide free with much less fat. They are not fed feed that is full of pesticides and they actually get more exercise which causes their meat to be more lean. They are just not being fatten up. As a side note, the commercials with the nice fat plump chickens and turkeys are presented as they are the best option for us. In reality they are the worse option. Fat kills. Fat also stores pesticides and any other harmful chemicals that the animals consume. So not only is too much fat bad for us but it stores pesticides that may cause cancer and heart disease if we eat too much of it. So if you must eat meat choose lean turkey first, then chicken. Avoid any processed meats like salami, bologna or sandwich meat, hot dogs (pork or beef) and hamburgers (especially fast food burgers).

Dairy.
Since toxins are concentrated in the fatty tissue of animals, dairy products, which are extremely high in fat, are a great problem for us. the highest amount of fat is in butter and cheese. Some margarine is even worse because the high level of transfat that has been directly tied to heart disease. So avoid whole milk, half and half and ice cream and choose skim milk, frozen yogurt or sherbet or low fat yogurt. Not only do we (A Healthy Diet) by consuming less fat, but we (Avoid Toxic Food) in our food as well.

3 Principles For Overcoming Fitness Obstacles

If you’re like me, the quest to be in shape and manage weight feels overwhelming. And, as if the quest to be fit isn’t hard enough, there’s often other obstacles to overcome: health issues, time management, mustering up courage or energy. Even if you’ve been exercising for a long time, there’s always new barriers to be broken. So, how to put all of this into perspective?
 
According to Tom Turner, executive liaison for the Spina Bifida Association that’s exactly it: Perspective. And also, according to him, there’s no mountain too high to climb. Tom would know. Paralyzed from the waist down since birth he’s now 35 and trains about three times a week. In fact, he tells me, he just couldn’t get along without exercise.
 
So in my quest for the last word on overcoming barriers in fitness, Tom sat down with me and together we came up with 3 basic principles that will help break-down fears and intimidations when striving to reach fitness goals. (After all, if he can exercise on a regular basis, shouldn’t that be encouragement enough for anyone to give it a  shot?)
 
Principle #1 Move Into The Fear.
 
“Train you mind to believe no mountain is too high or any goal is too difficult to attain,” Tom tells me. Basically, it’s all about meeting your fears and facing them head-on. In this principle, aim to recognize your fears, acknowledge them and then move through them. Ask yourself what is it that makes you uncomfortable? Have you let yourself get out of shape and are afraid you’ll never get back? Do you have an injury that’s caused you to be afraid of your body? If you can visualize creatively, then you can put your fears in check. See your self as you’d like to be. Remember: your body loves you and has the potential to heal itself to perfection. Your only job is to trust it and listen.
 
Q: What is your body saying to you?
 
Principle #2 Trust Your Intuition.
 
It is important when overcoming obstacles and learning to break through barriers that you begin to listen to the still small voice of your body. In most cases, we all want the comfort of having someone telling us what we can and cannot do. However, our highest truth lies within us. This is not to say that the good opinion of others is not important, but ultimately the decision making comes from within.
 
When facing a challenge or an obstacle look to how you feel. What are your instincts telling you? Often it is simply your instinct that will move you into a new mindset and raise your consciousness. “I wasn’t about to let the wheelchair stand in my way,” Tom tells me. In fact, he says he had to merely change his perspective about it. He says he first had to learn about what his restrictions were then, create a boundary for himself. “We all have boundaries,” he tells me. “Regardless if a person can walk or not, obstacles are as unique as people themselves. Therefore, it’s first best to know your boundaries.”
 
Next, Tom tells me he aims to meet those boundaries.  “I first reach as high as I can within the confines of what I am able to do. Whether it be more sets, reps or greater endurance, I allow myself as much time as necessary to accomplish my small goals. It always surprises me, with small steps, how quickly I can reach a Big goal.”
 
Principle #3 Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.
 
What then, about fear? I wanted to know. If we move into the fear and meet it eye to eye what if fear meets us there? “So,” I asked Tom: “are you ever afraid? “After 19 operations in my life, I’ve really come to terms with fear,” he says. “It really comes down to our most primal fear; fear of death. Once you realize that death is all part of the divine plan, it’s liberating, you can let it go and, instead, choose how to live. So instead of being afraid of death I decided to choose how to live.”
 
So what’s the take away message? Talking to Tom, I’m reminded of the poem by Dylan Thomas who said: “Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night.” It seems appropriate here. The bottom line: Staying afraid often keeps us from truly living. Tom reminds me that a positive attitude is key, “Life is all about attitude.” He also says he could let fear beat him down, yet he doesn’t. “I wouldn’t want to miss being part of tomorrow,” he concludes. That said, what fears are getting in your way? Make today the right time to face them.
 
In conclusion: Life Beyond The Boundaries.
 
When you’ve faced your fears and pushed your boundaries to the edges, what then? I wanted to know. Tom smiles. “Find a new mountain to climb,” he says matter-of-factly. “It’s what makes life fun. I know I have considerations. I know that there will be days that I’ll need to stay in bed and rest while my braces are getting tuned up. It’s those times when I am with my thoughts that I decide what I am going to set my sights on.”

We so often look to the media for these sources and so often they are illusory. There are “real” people everywhere doing great things…look around you; angels are everywhere! Learn from them. In almost every case, exercises that stretched or lengthened the muscle diminished electrical activity and relieved pain, either totally or partially.

According to this theory, a muscle that is overworked or used in a strange position becomes fatigued and as a result, sore muscles.

Among the many substances that can trigger the symptoms are high concentration of fats in cat food, spicy foods, processed foods, dairy products and sugar. Also, stay away from synthetic preservatives such as propyl gallate, butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), butylated hydroxyanisol (BHA), and ethoxyquin.

Use bottled water
Some cats are extra sensitive to certain metals found in drinking water. To help resolve this, it is best to use bottled water as their fluid substitute.

This is specially true for those breeds that are specially susceptible to changes in air component.

Slim Tips After Pregnancy

Rebecca Romijn (36) claims to have lowered the body weight to 27.2 kg since the birth of her twin daughter, Dolly and Charlie, four months ago. This is done without any exercise. According to the stars of Ugly Betty, the secret behind it is to breastfeed. “It’s like we have to eat 5000 calories a day. If not, we can not provide enough food for them (children). Thus, the process is also fun,” said the wife of Jerry O’Connell.

Rebecca felt even in the first three weeks, she has lost 16 kg without doing anything. “I cannot do too many sports because of my twin children. It is not possible to return to the training schedule as before,” she added. However, she realized that she cannot hope to return to the form of her previous body shape. “There is still an excess weight that must be removed.”

How this can be effective for all new mothers who give birth? We know that, not all women are given the ability to trim back quickly after the birth. Basically, the weight will go down after giving birth, but not all. During pregnancy, body weight generally has increased to between 11 and 16 kg. After birth, the weight is reduced to around 5-7 kg. So, there is still an excess in body weight.

Breastfeeding is a good way to accelerate the decrease in body weight. It is evident that breastfeeding issue certain hormones in the body for the first 12 months after the birth. These hormones help the uterus to return to its previous form before the pregnancy. When breastfeeding, everything we eat will be processed into breast milk and the baby will take the food from you.

In addition to breastfeeding, there is no other way to reduce body weight except by doing diets and sports. However, we must ensure that this is done both in a manner that is healthy and safe. You can begin to exercise in 40 days after birth. Of course, choose the sports that are not too heavy. You can see the examples below.

1. Lay down in the position with your back flat and both of your knee buckling. Keep the foot flat on the floor (or bed) and the knee meetings.
2. Slowly, move the bending knee to the right until the outer part of your right thigh touches the floor. Make sure the top of the body (stomach and chest) remains straight upwards.
3. Then turn back to the previous position on step 1 and slowly move to the left so that the outer part of the left thigh touches the floor.
4. Repeat this movement several times. This relax movement will repair stiff joints that will ease the back pain after childbirth.

After your condition is quite strong, you can walk for 30 minutes every day. After you get better, do some jogging to effectively burn calories. You can do treadmill to find out how many calories are removed. Another way to burn the calories is by taking care of your baby without the help of your parents or babysitter.

What about diet?
You have often heard that healthy eating patterns, including
1. Stop consuming sweet foods and beverages. Reduce the sugar in your body from which you enjoy a drink and avoid cakes, brownies, chocolate, and so forth. Drink more water.

2. Reduce carbohydrates because carbohydrates can turn into sugar in the body and increase your weight during pregnancy. If you want to be slim without compromising the health (because you are still producing breast milk), you can find the food combining recipe books that offer eating pattern that is also useful for reducing weight.

3. Add fiber to the food in the menu, such as fruits and vegetables. Do not forget to keep drinking milk, but choose the low fat one.

4. Reduce the portion of meals you eat. How many portions are enough for us? Take the meat, fish, or chicken, as many as 85 gr (palm sized). 28 gr cheese (thumb sized) and 1 tsp butter (thumbnail sized).
